Surrealism: Expanding from the Visual Arts to Advertising, Fashion, and Interior Design

Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka
From Today
Defined by André Breton in 1924, surrealism emerged as a movement influenced by Freudian psychoanalysis that focused on the subconscious and dreams. This show aims to reconstruct an idea of surrealism, taking medium of expression as a keyword to dissect the movement that spread to the visual arts, and, by extension, throughout society at large.
