Setagaya Art Museum opened on March 30, 1986. It is known for its beautiful architecture, which is in harmony with the blessed natural environment of Kinuta Park. Setagaya Art Museum provides a place to connect daily life and art through exhibitions, programs, events, and various other activities while positioning art as a means to maintain mental health.

Taking advantage of the uniqueness of Setagaya City, where an unparalleled number of artists reside, the Center promotes surveys, research, and collecting of works by resident artists, and holds unique exhibitions. The Museum also introduces a wide range of artistic movements in modern and contemporary art, architecture, design, and other fields from its own unique perspective, while interacting with art museums in Japan and abroad.

In addition, the museum focuses on performance projects that provide creative opportunities for music, dance, and theater.
